What On This Day does

On This Day hands you five historical events for any date you ask about — except the history is gloriously broken. The bot stitches fragments of real encyclopedia entries into new combinations, so the American Civil War ends up happening in 987 and Domitian becomes Emperor of the Nepalese palace court. It looks like an on-this-day reference and reads like a joke generator.

Every reply is five dated lines, each a plausible-sounding sentence that falls apart the moment you read it properly. Ask for the same date twice and you get a completely different batch, which makes the bot an easy source of chat filler, screenshots and fake trivia for friends.
